#275: Something Lovecraftian. Two, actually - one that's actually creepy and one that's just...a little silly. The silly one will be easy. XD

#276: Also, I want to make a journal for Cthulhu (at i_fhtagn) and start making daily posts. And see what happens. I think it'd be fun.

Also. Please, can I stop feeling like a failure at family? I do not like this. :\

Who, me? Go on eljay during a newspaper meeting? No waaaaay.

But really, this exercise cracked me up. And I had way too much fun with it. So I present: Jack and Jill in the style of News, Features, and Opinions.

I don't even know which is my favorite. XDD

Have fun! )

I am so OCD sometimes it is not even funny.

My latest?

I catalouged my entire bookshelf in author order - not including the books in storage but including the books packed in a box under the table up here - in an Excel document, by Title, Author, Preceded By..., and Followed By.... The last two for series.

I feel so accomplished. I finally finished the bookshelf itself. Onward to the box!!!

XDD I am such a loser. I know this.

And a meme, stolen from [personal profile] assimbya if anyone wants to try it.

If you've ever watched your favorite DVDs, and then found yourself eager to hear exactly what the actors, directors, writers and even production designers thought about making the episode, the movie, or whatever - you'll know sometimes the best parts of DVDs are hearing the commentaries. Getting into an actor's feelings about the character they play, getting the background behind a writer's plans and metaphors, even just getting the stupid anecdotal stuff that makes you laugh, it's all good.

Ask me about any story, and I'll do a DVD commentary for it! Satisfy your curiosity!

If my stories aren't at [profile] ficviendha (i.e. most/all of my Wheel of Time stuff), it's on FFN under Min Daae.

I have several of them - the usual, commenting is nice, credit is necessary.

In case you're wondering? Fourth to last one? That is Totoro. :D

Sleep well, kids.

Title: Hands
Fandom: The Kingkiller Chronicle
Summary: Bast has a certain fondness for a feature of his Reshi's.
Author's Notes: Random image popped into my head last night, typed it up in drabble form. Gift for [personal profile] ifshadowsoffend, just because.

Hands )

Fandom: The Gentleman Bastard Sequence
Summary: Locke Lamora never seems to learn his lessons.
Author's Notes: Also with the above - popped into my head, wrote it up in drabble form. Also rather a present for Meg, as she and the twins inspired it.

Cards )

Fandom: Caliban Leandros Series
Summary: It's Caliban's birthday!
Author's Notes: Not nearly as happy as it sounds - it is Cal, after all. Been meaning to write this one for ages, finally got around to it. Am rather more fond of it than it probably deserves.

So totally reminiscing about the first rpg I ever played right now. XD

*shifty eyes* I'm kind of upset about the fact that I took a personality test and it tells me my Conscientiousness is 2. Not too surprised, though... and rather amused, in a way.

It also tells me that "You are not interested in the arts and do not display aesthetic sensitivity."

I have somehow spent all of today doing nothing. I feel strangely unfulfilled.

And by the way, I finished The Vampire Lestat, and am now on page 3 of Queen of the Damned. Mimi, we need to talk. :D

Ha. Go me.

1) [profile] redsilkscarf , I have an icon for you:

2) I ship Christian/Cyrano de Bergerac and desire to write fic at some point for them. That is all. *hides again*

3) I have - more fic.

Title: A Promise
Fandom: Caliban Series
Summary: Niko will not break his promises. Especially not those to his brother.

4) I'm feeling horribly vulnerable and like all my friends only put up with me because they are obligated to. Sensible me knows this is not true. However, there is a good portion of me that is very Not Sensible at all and refuses to be soothed by Sensible Reasoning. It is not a comfortable position.

5) HAPPY BIRTHDAY [profile] ersatz_iolo! MANY HAPPY RETURNS.

Sometimes Locke can be such a morbid pessimist he makes me facepalm.

And since I have nothing to do and it are raining, I do my usual and come up with PBs for my characters from various stories, and I FINALLY SUCCEEDED in finding myself a Keearh. So, that just leaves finding a really good Taine, which is haaard. I have one, but there are no pictures where he is not headbanging on a cello. Bummer. ETA: Scratch that, I have an appropriately pretty Taine. :DDD And I'm now addicted to sort-of-not-porn, aka whynotmodels.com. Ahahaha.

Cut for those interested parties... )

I feel like I've been absent from teh intarwebs lately, but I LIVE. I'm sure you were all relieved for the ceasing of spam. However, a few things of note have happened/amazing things been discovered...

1) I got sick. I am now suffering the first cold of the year. I hate these things. They always hit me harder than they should.

2) The amazing [personal profile] dame_grise introduced me to the wonderful world of "Le Chevalier D'Eon," the best fantasy/twisted historical/anime EVER. A trailer is here and the first episode (the first 8 in English, the rest in subtitled Japanese) here. After the first one, it's basically just follow the links to the rest. I am so addicted and DAMN do I have ships for it. So writing fic. My favorite characters are Maximilien Robespierre and Durand. Watch for them. At any rate, that's been one of the things that's been swallowing me. Also, teh pretty. And the story's absorbing as well...only thing is violence, there's quite a bit of swashbuckling, which I don't mind but I know some do.

3) After finally setting down the first omnibus of the Chronicles of the Cheysuli (I just couldn't get through it! Sorry. I will try again, though) books have come back into the picture full force. Most recently, two of them: Madhouse by Rob Thurman and a series, by Carol Berg (who wrote another trilogy I enjoyed. A lot).

This has been Lise, reporting from the West Coast of Nowhere. See you next time.

I amuse myself, at least.

Oh, and icons! A few.

Have fun. Icons of Le Chevalier especially Maximilien coming soon.

Don't look at me! XD

From the lovely [personal profile] shorelle.

Pick a fictional character from a fandom I know and I'll answer the following questions to the best of my abilities.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s) (romance-wise or platonic)?
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? Etc.)
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
9) Would you hype up (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) this character to someone who's new to the fandom?
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Let's see what people come up with!

Karla just said something that is really true. Lucivar Yaslana tends to think in absolutes.

I think that causes a lot of his issues.

I also think all of my DF characters have a little bit of me in them...isn't that interesting?

This thing is absolutely hilarious.

To try different sites/dialects, go here.

This one is kind of brainbreaking...

And finally on the pointless links list of the day...

Here I have definitively found the airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is 24 miles an hour. :D Stumble FTW.

Also, the Spanish Inquisition Videos are the best thing ever. Look them up on YouTube.

First, from [profile] reynardbleu.

Comment on this post and I will give you at least three reasons why I love you. Then make your own post in your journal and spread the love.

And from [profile] i_have_a_spork:

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.

calvin and hobbes: Calvin and Hobbes seriously has a comic for everything. EVERYTHING. I grew up with these and they were and are my favorite comic. Who doesn't love this. Plus, Calvin and I both love dinos, and das cool.

gothic literature: I actually haven't read that much of it, but Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier is definitely up on my favorite books list, and I really would like to read more in the same vein.

Essentially unlimited books? For free?! GIVE ME MORE.

peppermints: I'm addicted. What more can I say?

piano: I play it, all my friends play it, and it is pretty. Piano pwns all other instruments, kthxbai.

shiny things: I am secretly a magpie, and therefore attracted to all things that gleam, sparkle, or glisten. In other words, shiny things.

They're fun to wear, and besides, they're really hot on guys.
