I have also come to the conclusion that I should conduct all of my business in polls, as people seem to like them much more than anything else. The response on poll entries is always so much bigger than that on non-poll entries. XD

BUT ALL THAT ASIDE while Thingol is heavily favored, Earendil is backed by the power of the Silmaril - and his magic flying boat-star! May be a surprising match after all...
ELROS VS. MAEGLIN! The half-elven Elros, great-grandson of Luthien Tinuviel, faces off with the infamous traitor of Gondolin! Elros has in his choice of mortality received some human vulnerabilities, but little is known of the strategy of either fighter - though Maeglin's "sharp glance" may serve him well with this adversary.
LUTHIEN VS. EOL! The most beautiful maiden ever against the Dark Elf of Nan Elmoth! Eol managed to persuade Aredhel of his good intentions, but can he manage the same with the famous beauty, and face her magical powers with aplomb? It remains to be seen!
ELROND VS. DIOR! In this thrilling face-off, Elrond Half-Elven will face his own grandfather! Each with their experience in epic battles, Dior can count three (!) Feanorians to his scorecard...though Elrond's upbringing with Maglor, now favored to win in his own match, may tip the fight in his favor!
MELIAN VS. BEREN! Maia vs. Human may not seem like a fair fight, but Beren is a brave hero and also Melian's son-in-law. Her own laws of conduct may require her surrender before the fight begins - but even if she chooses to face him, the contest may not have a foregone conclusion. Watch this pair closely!
TURIN VS. LEGOLAS! The human tragic hero against the elf of the Third Age and the Fellowship! While Turin may be prophesied to kill Morgoth in the distant future, he's also a dangerous wild card with plenty of flaws of his own. Don't underestimate the elf in this contest, either - Legolas's bow is formidable, and Turin shouldn't expect an easy victory.
TUOR VS. CELEBORN! The human hero against the Sindarin enigma! Little is known about Celeborn's fighting ability, but we may safely assume that Galadriel would never marry anyone less than an equal. However, Tuor, as the one human to gain entrance to Valinor, might be worth keeping an eye on. The odds are close, and coaches are keeping both contestants well out of sight!
DAERON VS. HALETH! The warrior woman who defied Caranthir himself faces off with the musician for all times, passed by none and equaled by one other. Haleth is a fierce woman with plenty of fire to spare, but Daeron is clearly no quitter either - surviving the First Age alone is plenty of a feat! Keep a close eye on these two, though the likely winner Haleth may already begin planning her strategy for round two.

ROBB STARK VS. CATELYN TULLY-STARK! The firstborn son faces off with his mother in the first round of the day. Robb Stark with Grey Wind at his side is a formidable fighter and a powerful leader, but will that be enough to defeat his mother's tenacity and diplomatic fortitude? Additionally, will her power of resurrection come into play, to his detriment?
DAVOS SEAWORTH VS. THEON GREYJOY! Both seamen of a sort, the ward of Eddard Stark here faces the faithful knight of Stannis Baratheon. One is unquestionably more experienced than the other, but Davos' age may also slow him down, and the Greyjoys are nothing if not persistent...Theon is unlikely to give up this fight, at least not easily, and his youthful endurance may serve him well.
GREATJON UMBER VS. MEERA REED! The Greatjon is a giant of a man, and we wouldn't want to outdrink him, but young Meera shows quick promise with her trident - but just the same, frogs are not the same as bears, and an Umber might prove harder for even her quick moves to catch!
MANCE RAYDER VS. JON SNOW! They both wear black, and while rumors claim that Jon turned his cloak against the Watch at one point, he seems to have returned in full force, and his followers deny all such claims. This match may be a bitter one, therefore, and young Snow may not have the ruthless spirit necessary to defeat the maverick of the north...but if he does, he'll still have to fight hard for it, as Mance is no pushover!
ROBERT BARATHEON VS. EDMURE TULLY! Robert Baratheon, the slightly-past-his-prime King of Westeros, faces off with the new patriarch of House Tully, Edmure! While Edmure may be his best friend's brother in law, be sure that Robert's hammer knows no mercy. All the same, Robert has been declining in recent years due to his rich habits, while young Edmure is just entering his prime as a young, impulsive warrior. Will his impulsivity prove fatal...or vital to his victory?
BRANDON STARK VS. BRIENNE OF TARTH! The dead big brother of Eddard Stark makes a reappearance to battle the Maid of Tarth, challenger to Jaime Lannister himself! Brienne has earned her fame as a knight well, winning many fights against opponents heavily favored against her. She is undoubtedly talented with a sword - but is she talented enough? Little is known of Brandon's style and experience, so she just may end up fighting in the dark...
PODRICK PAYNE VS. ARYA STARK! Two young squires face off in a fight to the finish, with a surprise twist that one of them is female! Arya Stark, newly returned from Braavos on errands unknown, is silent on her tactics. Sources, though, indicate that she may be a deadly and ruthless assassin, even at her age. Podrick Payne, even with squire's training, will have to work hard to match this she wolf of House Stark!
EDDARD STARK VS. LYANNA STARK! Brother against beloved sister, Eddard Stark faces his long dead sister in the battle not to be missed! Lyanna is rumored to be a skilled rider, and some even claim that she has beaten decorated knights! Just the same, however, Eddard is a man of complete Northern strength and tenacity, and even for his sister audiences can be sure that justice will be done.
